BEST DAY OF MY LIFE

April 16, 2009

Today I was reminded of why I want to go into politics and government. THE PEOPLE stood together in a bipartisan movement that shook the entire country.

Standing in the park in the rain, surrounded by tons of people who believed in the same basic principles, I realized that I am truly not alone in my belief and morals. Turning in a 360 degree circle were smiling faces and eyes gleaming with a hope. People who decided it was finally time to speak out and say, “I have a voice! Listen to me!”

This was quite possibly one of the best, and most inspiring days of my life. The excitement and energy in the air could almost be grabbed, it was so apparent.

After coming home from Lancaster’s protest I sat down to watch the protests and speeches going on around the country, most notably at the Alamo. Watching the thousands of people here standing in unity fighting peacefully for their cause was so exciting I can’t even put it into words.

I’ll link the videos here so everyone can share in the excitement. This is a pivotal time in our country and you CAN make a difference. Get excited! If you aren’t at least a little excited after watching these videos, I honestly have no clue what would ever get you interested in your life or how politics affects you EVERY day. Enjoy!

In order, videos of the Tea Party at the Alamo!:

For those of you who have been in a cave hibernating for the past 10ish years, here’s what the Tea Parties are all about!

“*It’s about spending — too much spending, to be specific. The idea that a business is too big to fail is anti-American; we’ve always been for the underdog.

*It’s about putting my family — my children — under $12.8 trillion in debt; all it took was two presidents and six months.

*It’s about the idea that we’re all socialists now.

*It’s about the idea that the government can force companies, banks and states to take money and the strings that are attached to it, that they didn’t want.

*It’s about power — too much power going to federal government.

*It’s about corruption — too much corruption, in both parties.

*It’s about the rule of law — that no one is above the law: if you’re here legally or illegally, it applies-never too rich or powerful.

*It’s about if you write the tax code you should pay your taxes.

*It’s about the Republic, not mob rule.

*It’s about the concept of free speech — we’ve been called insane, lunatics and worse, just for speaking out.

*It’s about the years of lies from both parties — a Republican Party that claims to be for small government but gives us Medicare Part D that’s got $17 trillion in unfunded liabilities.

*It’s about hypocrisy — both parties claim to be the most ethical, but we get corruption and not one damn person in Washington to speak out against it.

*It’s about the media that gets into bed with one party and has moved so far left that it can’t even begin to see we’re not extremists, we’re moms and dads who just want to have a Republic for our children; but they can’t see it.

But I’m the extremist.
Bush and Obama spend or put us on the hook for $12.8 trillion, but I’m the extremist?
Cap and Trade without any plan on who pays the taxes or where the money goes, but I’m the extremist?
States are looking to apply retroactive taxes — that’s like changing the rules in the middle of the game — but I’m the extremist?
Vilifying AIG executives, without any law being broken, just for accepting money they were owed, but I’m the extremist?
Bush and Obama have taken over and want to take over banks, car manufacturers and insurance companies, but I’m the extremist?
The politicians in the House and Senate stuff $20 billion in pork and earmarks into spending bills when we have to beg the Chinese to loan us that money, and I’m the extremist?
A Supreme Court justice and Harold Koh, who will help run the State Department, talk about trans-nationalism and by definition a diminished role for the Constitution, but I’m the extremist?
Politicians openly talk of the Fairness Doctrine — or its ugly twin, “localism” — and curtailing my free speech, but I’m the extremist?
Unions and big labor politicians want to take away the right to a secret ballot, but I’m the extremist?

I believe in the Constitution. I believe in the Founding Fathers. I believe in the American people. When did believing those things make someone — anyone — an extremist?

I’m not the extremist.

I learned something from a lawyer friend of mine who won lots of cases in front of judges and lawyers — I asked him how he won so many cases. He said it’s easy: If the law supports my client’s position I argue the law. If not, I argue the facts. If the facts don’t support my client’s position, I just attack the opposition.

They can’t attack the message, so I guess they have to target the messenger.”
-Beck

THIS is what we are speaking out against. THIS is what we need in our country. What happened today is what makes me PROUD to be an American!

Census Control.

April 9, 2009

I’ve been busy busy busy with school lately so I haven’t posted in awhile despite the major changes going on in this country. I’m going to post a brief update here just to get you guys thinking about whether or not it’s time to speak out (hint: it is).

Unless you are watching NBC news, it has become clear (at least to the thousands of people who have decided to participate in over 2,000 Tea Parties across the country on April 15th) that when candidate Obama talked about change, he meant he wanted to use the system to create permanent liberal control of the government.

*Our Constitution requires we take a population census every 10 years.*

As you know by now, the future shape of Congress, state legislatures and the balance of political power between states are at stake with the change in census control. This is because individual election district lines will be redrawn based on the Census figures. The census also determines changes in population and demographics across the country and impacts the amount of federal funds which are given to the states. It determines the number of Representatives each state has in the U.S. House and therefore the make-up of the Electoral College. The make-up of the Electoral College will determine the outcome of the 2012 Presidential election. In lieu of recent events and procedures enacted by the Obama administration, it seems very clear that they plan to rig the Census results. (Or maybe I’m jumping to my “bias right-wing crazy hate-monger” conclusions again.)

ACORN is a leftist, urban community organization that has had a *proven* history of promoting voter fraud. Obama’s friends from this organization have been now chosen to partner with the Census Bureau to determine population counts in cities around the country. This group has had a steady track record of coming up with limitless fraudulent voter registrations in heavily Democrat areas. This sways elections to favor ultra-liberals. With such a record, you can be sure they will be manipulating population numbers in the biggest liberal control scheme yet. And I’m sure ACORN’s members will be happy to help out the Obama administration after the millions of dollars handed over to them in the “stimulus” bill.

“Why is this important? The U.S. population has shifted in the last ten years. States like Illinois, Michigan, New York and Pennsylvania (all states Obama won in 2008) have smaller populations, and states like Arizona, Georgia and South Carolina (all states that John McCain carried) have gained population.
The trend illustrates that urban strongholds, which favor Democrats, continue to lose population to more decentralized areas in states more likely to lean Republican. If the Democrats and their friends at ACORN have their way, the Census will only “estimate” state populations and therefore be subject to political calculations. And surely their estimate will be far higher than the actual number of people, and voters, present. Our democracy, and the principle of “One Person, One Vote” are in jeopardy.”

And don’t take this as a Republican blog just trying to get as little of the liberals to vote as possible. I believe in the power of the people and I think the people should truly choose the president. On the contrary, if the majority of the population wants a liberal president, despite the fact that I don’t believe in most liberal policies…bring it on! That’s apparently what the hopefully informed population wants. And that’s how our government should work. (that’s one reason why I’m not for the electoral college…just think! George Bush probably wouldn’t have been president for 8 years if we didn’t have the electoral college) Census control in favor of any party is bad…especially because these days the Republicans in the government are basically the same as the Democrats. High spending, pork, and promises of one thing but doing the other behind our backs. It’s important for us to speak out against this.

We need to fight to bring our government back to the way our founding fathers wanted it to be.

Reverend Wright is normal.

March 17, 2009

There’s something that people in this world used to put a lot of value on. It’s not something tangible and it’s not something we must be extremely intelligent to have.

It’s morals, values, and class.

I honestly believe we have just lost them. You walk down the street and see pictures of half naked women sold for billboard ads. Teens are walking around with their stomachs hanging out and jeans are basically just another layer of skin. Why did we lose a sense of respect for others but more importantly ourselves?

I know this is my political blog and I will get to the point of it.

First off I want to talk about the disgusting, “slobbering love affair” that Obama had with the media. He’s a black liberal and I understand that. But where was the media when Michael Steel was elected to head the GOP? Where was the media hyping up Condoleeza Rice? No where. Because they were conservatives. This election wasn’t influenced by partisan heads of media pretending to act bipartisan. This election was influenced by the media making clear partisan statements. They hyped up Obama as if he was the messiah (he’s not in case you haven’t noticed recently).

How does this tie in with the lack of morals we have in today’s society? Well, the most important morals lacking in this situation are honesty and dignity. Media Bias

The media is not honest. The media portays what it wants to portray. The above political cartoon is just one example of how extreme it got this past election. Obama had been close friends with Reverend Wright for many many years. Reverend Wright was an anti-American, white hating extremist. Yet the media blew it off as unimportant. Who cares about the ties between a presidential candidate and his pastor? WELL I DO! He followed and listened to the advice from this nut for YEARS. He clearly believes many of the things Reverend Wright preached about. Yet people decided to bring a lack of dignity to Sarah Palin who was a typical American mother. (I’m not talking about political qualifications here) They critisized her for being a religious woman with a downs syndrom child and teenager who had a son too early. Can you honestly look at yourself and say those are bad things that make her a crazy nut unqualified for a vice presidency? If so, we might as well have senators and governors who don’t even go to college. Who cares about academic qualifications if your political career can be ruined when you have a disabled child. The attacks on Palin were outrageous when compared to the lack of attacks on Obama and his administration.

Second of all I want to talk about something more recent. Obama’s lack of class. I am going to assume that most people today would say a lack of class doesn’t matter in the least. I assume this because of the lack of class I see every day from middle schoolers to full grown adults.

One of our GREATEST allies, if not the greatest, is Great Britain. In the days after 9/11 (some of America’s BEST days) Great Britain sent us the most famous bust in the world of Winston Churchill. It was a gift representing our alliance and signified that Great Britain would help us through the difficult times ahead. Obama gets to the white house and gives it back. Obama tells Gordon Brown he can take it back home with him. Gordon Brown says, “No, no, no. Mr. President, that was a gift from the people of England after 9/11. If you want to keep that in one of your museums, you may keep it in one of your museums but please, no, no, that was a gift. That wasn’t to borrow. We didn’t just lend that out to you. That’s a gift from us.” Obama responds with, “No, that’s okay. We don’t want it.” And he sends it back!! WHAT?! What can possibly be his thought process behind that?! Then, to top it off he gives Gordon Brown literally, here me out…LITERALLY a basket of DVDs made in America. That was Obama’s gift to Great Britain. DVDs. Gordon Brown comes the entire way from England to meet with Obama (even though Obama refused to hold a press conference) and he gets a gift from our newly elected president of DVDs…not to mention the fact that Europe has a completely different way of watching movies and so Brown won’t be able to even watch them! Then to add insult to injury, Gordon Brown brought a set of pens to Obama. These pens were made out of the wood from the ship The Resolute. Long story short, the desks in both the white house and the one in Great Britain are made out of the wood from this ship. The returning of the ship from the US to Great Britain was a symbol of friendship years ago from America to England. So Obama recieves these pens as a symbol of friendship and he returns a bust of Winston Churchill and gives Brown a bunch of DVDs. Like I said, lack of class. How can anyone think this is a good idea?! What is happening to our country?! This almost makes me more angry than his horrible policies! At least show some dignity for the country and respect to Great Britain.

I don’t even know what else to say. This is dispicable.

Point gain!

February 20, 2009

So since I’ve been called a wealthy bitch Obama hatemonger, I decided to update my Obama rating and keep it in terms the people who apparently read this will understand. He ended at 58% last post.

17,000 troops sent to Iraq. Hallelujah let us win this war! +7

A bunch of stuff he and his administration did has caused the stock market (which predicts future outcomes in the economy) to drop from over 8000 to merely 7365. Eek. That’s bad. I’ll only take off 6.

He ends at 59%.

AAAAAHHHHH Run!

February 17, 2009

The official release of the new weekly show is in the works. Hopefully it won’t take more than a week or two to get the intro brainstormed to perfection and filmed. I’ll keep you guys updated on what’s going down with that. :) Now on to the usual blog.

Ok, look America. Whether you want to believe it or not, we have a huge issue on our hands. Remember when all the liberals and even a ton of conservatives said we were crying wolf over the idea that Obama would lead us towards socialism? Well, lets take a look at some new plans being implemented by the Obama administration.

In the ‘CRAP’ bill -as Huckabee so rightly called it- there are plans which strongly lead towards the nationalization of healthcare. Great! You may say, too many people are without healthcare coverage in our country. True, but nationalization of anything is NOT good. There are better ways to get healthcare coverage to more of the American people. Nationalized healthcare means that the government can tell you what it thinks you should be able to have done for your own health. Think you need a dentist appointment? Government might not think so, and the cavity you thought you had won’t be fixed until it already hurts beyond belief. Need a hip replacement? If the government thinks you make enough money to pay for it yourself, they may not loan you the money to get that replacement. (sounds fair to me especially considering the fact that the government doesn’t take into account children going to college, medical problems already being paid for from your own pocket, etc. so a family of 5 making over $250,000 a year may not get help even though they are sending all three of their children to college and the dad is working a part time job to keep the family living well. Isn’t nationalized healthcare just sounding better and better?)

Obama and his administration are also talking about nationalizing the banks!! Now, if there is one thing I don’t want controlled by this run-away-spending ‘doesn’t care about the people’ government, it’s my money. First of all, they are going to take ungodly amounts of it and give it to illigal immigrants and people who aren’t working. Second of all, they can use it to control us utterly and completely. Money is controlling and whoever has it, has control. Why do you think there’s a national drinking age? Yep, because the federal government told the states they wouldn’t get funding for the roads and highways unless they implemented it. Why is there a certain age at which you can get your permit? You guessed it, funding from the federal government. So now we are giving control of ALL finances in the country to the government? No way! Not if I have anything to say about it! I’m already giving ungodly amounts of money to them through ridiculous taxes that try to redistribute wealth. (aka. socialism) As American’s we should give to charity and help the less fortunate. However, as Americans we should be able to do this ON OUR OWN ACCORD and the government should not be able to force us to be charitable. It’s our money that we earned and we should be able to do with it what we choose. These banks made bad decisions. And you know what happens to companies that make bad decisions? They fail. And better companies (banks in this case) take over and make better decisions and make our economy even greater than it was before the awful seemingly endless depression when all the banks closed. This is the basis of our country. Nationalizing banks may help in the short-term but this plan is not for the short term. It’s for the long-term. And that will only do worlds of hurt that we cannot afford with a debt more than the entire world’s GDP.

Equal Airwaves act…or whatever it’s called. All I know and all I care about is the fact that Democrats are trying to equalize airwaves because they think there are too many conservative zealout crazies on air. Guess what? They’re still on air because people are listening to them. They’re still on air because apparently people like them. (Democrats are just mad that none of their freak show leaders can keep a good show on the air) When the government starts putting restrictions on things such as radio and television, we start to get into situations like in China when they decide what songs are allowed to be played at concerts. (Can’t encourage the wrong things such as silly democracy and the land of the free!) Once the government controls this, people like me will not be allowed to express our dislike for things going on in the government…which I’m sure wouldn’t actually be such a bad thing to a lot of you. Once again, another example of how we are moving towards socialism. Still don’t believe me?

The census is now controlled by the government?! Now if this doesn’t scream socialism to you, I don’t know what will. I went into details about this horrible idea in a previous post so I won’t go deeply into it. The most I will say is that when the government has control of the census, it is private and partisan. The public may not be able to see everything that goes into calculations and the calculations are easily skewed in favor of whatever administration (or communist dictator at the rate we’re going) we have in office at the moment.

Obama wants to control our right to bear arms and wants the medical records of everyone who owns a gun. Guess what people? That means the government can say, “No”…even though our constitution clearly states that we have the right to bear arms. So all of us ‘helpless’ citizens will be left with no good defense against a government loaded with state of the art guns. And who’s going to argue against anything that government says? Probably not many of us. You may say, “But what about all the innocent killings because people have guns?” To that I say, people kill people. Guns are a choice of weapon. If some crazy, twisted person wants to shoot and kill his next-door neighbor, he’s going to be able to get his hands on a gun no matter how strict our gun control laws are.

I don’t have details on this, but I have heard from various sources that Obama also plans to nationalize oil. Mmmm more government control!

Still think we cried wolf over Socialism in America? If you do, you need to wake up and smell the dead, rotting roses that were once Democracy. We haven’t had a true free market capitalist system for a long time in America and the more we move away from it, the worse our economy seems to be getting.

What I don’t understand is how people don’t see it? They just shrug it off saying it’s only Obama’s 30 something day in office, give him a chance. Guess what? I gave him a chance. Multiple chances. If he were doing things that were good for our economy, I would not be ripping him apart. That’s just common sense. What he is doing, is not common sense unless he plans to turn us to a country of socialists. (Which then leads to communism – Kruschev said that our children would wake up under the rule of communism and we wouldn’t know what hit us after we got socialism pushed on us little by little.) Even little things such as the fairness act are being completely ignored. His so called “most transparent administration in the history of the US” is turning into just the same old tired politics. When you promise the American people that you’ll give them 5 days to look at any bill before it is signed, that really should include one of the largest spending bills in America! Doesn’t it comfort you to know that our government didn’t even read the bill before it was signed? Who knows what was in there! There could be anything!

What frustrates me is how little people care. And that people don’t seem to realize how serious this is! People are even embracing it! The US Weekly’s cover said in huge red, white, and blue letters “We’re All Socialits Now”. As much as we take advantage of it in America, liberty is precious. There are few places where the right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness are still fully in store. And I’m sure ALL of us want it to stay in America. We want to be able to do and say whatever we want, and as American’s we’ve made that abundantly clear in the past. If we lose our rights, I’m not sure where I’d even want to live because America has the potential and IS so GREAT. Maybe I’ll go live somewhere that’s already socialist so I at least won’t be horribly disappointed and disgusted with the government.

Remember – George Washington told us that government is a great slave but a fearsome master.

I think I’m going to use my comical $13 a week tax rebate and go spend it at Wal-Mart. That way it will end up in China and Obama can borrow more money from people who hate us.

Self Worth.

February 13, 2009

This message isn’t about political arguments or ideas. In fact, I want to put them aside temporarily. This note is about self worth.

Most of you who are reading this are in school right now. And most of you have written papers in the past. I want you to think about all the work you put into that paper…all the research, the editing, the typing. Now think about finishing it and finally handing it in. Isn’t that one of the greatest feelings? You just worked hard and came out with a good final product, something you can be proud of.

When did we lose that ideal? What is happening to us?

Don’t get me wrong, I like free things. If I could get free food all the time I would take it. If I could get clothing and housing and maintenance free, I would take it. Who wouldn’t? It’d be stupid not to. But why should I settle for living in the same mediocre house as everyone else when I can put effort in and feel good about owning a nicer one?

When did we lose our sense of worth and value? When did we forget that it feels good to achieve things on our own accord?

I’d like to quote someone here and I’m not going to say who it is because I don’t want any bias. “All men are created equal and they are endowed by their creator with certain inalienable rights: The pursuit of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. You’ve got a life, you have liberty, and you can pursue your happiness. It goes back to one of our principles. You’re not guaranteed an equal outcome. You are guaranteed the right to pursue your happiness.”

Now if you don’t agree with this quote, then I guess this message doesn’t apply to you so you can stop reading. But if you read that, and understand what it means please hear me out.

When our country was founded, we were escaping the holds of a socialist government. We came here and we said that everyone has the right to pursue liberty. They have the right to pursue happiness. And they have the right to life. Our founding fathers never stated that everyone’s outcomes would be equal. They said that everyone should have an equal chance at pursuing these goals.

I think the best way of doing good for the poor is to not make it easy in poverty but to lead people out, drive them out of poverty, make them uncomfortable. Those are the words of Benjamin Franklin. Make them uncomfortable. Lead people out. That’s the sense of ethic we need restored. We need to work for our accomplishments. No one learned anything or felt fulfilled by breezing through.

I just want to reach out to all of you and ask you to just remember this in your everyday life. It honestly feels great to accomplish things when you work hard for them. And I don’t lead a perfect life. I’ve handed in those last minute papers that just barely scrape by with a C. But I’ve also handed in those papers that I’ve really worked hard on and felt proud about when I finished.

We can’t get through life by breezing by and expecting others to give us everything; not just because it doesn’t work, but because we will never learn or grow.

Republican’s don’t have credibility?!

February 13, 2009

“I’m not sure they [Republicans] have a lot of credibility when it comes to fiscal responsibility” -Obama

That’s a surefire way to gain trust and respect across party lines. Also, it shows a great deal of your bipartisanship. Not all Republicans are George Bush. Some of them actually want to follow their party’s platform and believe in the original ideals set down by our founding fathers. And it’s such a good idea to stereotype people into one big false group. Oh and Republicans aren’t fiscally responsible? I don’t care if you did come into office with this deficit handed to you in a “big red bow”, you’re the one spending 1 TRILLION dollars creating another New Deal that will prolong depression. Yea, we’re the ones fiscally irresponsible. GAH. I’m so mad!

h1

Ouch.

February 13, 2009

Update! New ratings for Obama.

Recently he decided it would be beneficial to our country to move control of the census to Washington! This may not seem like such a horrible thing, but lets go into the details a bit. The census report controls things such as welfare distribution and the electoral college. Now, there are two ways to figure out a census. You can go around knocking on doors asking how many people live in a house (which is what they do now) or they can estimate. Estimation is what the heads of this supposed new census section of the government want to do. This means there will be a less accurate census count. Why is this bad? Many of the cities are difficult to estimate and therefore there is a high chance of misestimation. What does this mean for us? A misrepresentation of the city’s population. It has been said that the poorer areas of the city are almost always undercounted. Also, if the census is moved to the government it no longer has the transparency we expect. The white house would be able to tweak numbers without anyone knowing (not that I’m accusing him of wanting to do this, but it’s Washington. They’re corrupt) Obama won’t state why he wants so much control over the census apparently because it’s so controversial. Now to me, that sounds a little bit like a Democratic government playing tricks on us. -10.

Also, Obama plans on passing legislation making Washington D.C. a state! Guess we’re going to have to alter our flags now America. Give ‘em 51 stars. -8.

Before this post he was at 76%. That brings him down to 58%. Ouch.

h1

76%.

February 13, 2009

I’m going to steal an idea from Glenn Beck’s blog. (love him!) It’s kind of a fun little game. And I apologize that I’m slacking with my insightful posts that you guys seem to enjoy. I just have nothing on my mind but this political & economic stuff so here it is -

I am going to start my approval rating of Obama with 100%. This rating is valid as of the second he became president. I will subtract or add a maximum of 10 points for everything I find good/bad about his presidency. I will do a quick recap of the past few weeks to see where he is now.

He lost a point fast during his Inauguration speech when he said, “The question we ask today is not whether our government is too big or too small, but whether it works.” If you need explanation for why this is a ridiculous statement, you should not even be reading this blog.
99%

(This may go out of order)

Obama recently made a speech promoting this stimulus bill. (-9. horrible stimulus bill but he keeps one point because I think we DO need SOMETHING to stimulate the economy. However, the bill needs basically totally rewritten. He just wants the horrible thing passed with whatever the bias Democratic congress decides to put in it.) 90%

In this speech he said, “there has been no bill this big passed without earmarks”….Thereby implying that we should pass it with earmarks. Aka. earmarks are ok. We should be ok with them. -6 Don’t put your foot in your mouth Obama. Just because others have done it doesn’t make it ok. Earmarks are BAD.
84%

He is appointing some of the most important positions of government to people who haven’t payed their taxes! And one of them is managing money! WTF. -10. Epic fail. He also stated that we can’t set separate standards for those in the government vs. the people of the united states. Yet these people who haven’t payed their taxes are getting in no trouble. If any average citizen didn’t pay taxes they would have all kinds of problems.
74%

He gave a convincing speech. He’s eloquent. (not really important but he’s just lost so many points I feel the need to cut him a break.) +2 to end at 76%

h1

$887 billion is actually $1.2 trillion.

February 13, 2009

Unless I am completely out of the loop, I thought we weren’t on the greatest of terms with China. So where exactly are we getting this kind of money? And how are we going to be paying it back with the government sending inflation out the roof?

(Apparently the government loves inflation.)

I’ve said before that on January 20th, I decided to cut Obama a break from my criticisms and see what good he could possibly bring to America. Apparently the “good” he seeks is a “stimulus” plan which includes post 2010 spending (I thought we needed the stimulus now during the recession, but who am I to talk?), $198 million for Filipino veterans – most of whom are living in the Philippines (oh, I forgot, giving more American money to other countries stimulates our economy), massive transfers of wealth to government programs (yes! give money to the government, not the consumer!), $50 million to the National Endowment for the Arts, and $335 million to CDC to fight STDs (because the lack of free condoms are clearly hindering our economic growth).

Not to mention ridiculous proposals from states across the country including many cities in Minnesota who wanted the following added to the plan: $300,000 for tennis court improvement, $1.5 million for a golf course’s clubhouse and maintenance shop, $750,000 for a skateboard park, and $6 million for a snow making facility. If I weren’t attune to the immense importance of skate parks to American jobs and workers, I would think these propositions preposterous! Thank god for Tony Hawk, not to mention Avril Lavigne for reminding us how much we love skater boys!

This “stimulus” package is not a stimulus package at all but in fact a charity package. (hence the overwhelming love from Democrats and 100% rejection from Republicans) Many of the causes in here may be worthy of money, but that is not the goal of our tax dollars and this package. We need economic stimulus, hence its title.

So what should be in this package giving it a better chance to stimulate the economy?

To start: money should be given to the banks, but with regulation. More money should be given to roads and highways: The 3% currently proposed is not significant enough. Even WPA projects, spending for military procurement, cut in payroll tax for employers, and housing – which is currently getting no money with the plan (I find this a bit more than slightly baffling considering the state of housing right now) – would help to stimulate the economy!

Take a step back Obama and take a look at these propositions. When our economy is supposedly back on its feet in two years as you claim, are you just hoping everyone will dismiss this ridiculous spending? Oh wait, they probably will until our country turns authoritarian and everyone wishes were were able to fend for ourselves again.
